KUALA LUMPUR: Lembaga Tabung Haji will announce its new chief executive officer (CEO) next month.

Chairman Datuk Seri Azeez Abdul Rahim said the pilgrim fund’s board of directors had identified a suitable candidate for the post to replace outgoing CEO Tan Sri Ismee Ismail who steps down effective July 1, 2016.

“Currently, Datuk Johan Abdullah is the acting CEO and once Ismee returns from his leave, we will announce his successor,” he told reporters after presenting two Proton Exora MPVs, one each to best qari and best qariah at the 59th National Quran Recital Assembly, in Kuala Lumpur on Monday.

In April, Ismee, who is also Tabung Haji group managing director, was reported to be leaving the pilgrim fund with effect from July 1, 2016.

Tabung Haji appointed Johan as acting CEO on May 16.

Johan joined Tabung Haji on Jan 15, 2015, as deputy group managing director after serving BIMB Holdings Bhd as group managing director and CEO. - Bernama
