Ringgit opens higher against the US dollar


Ringgit fell to a low of 4.2980 against the US dollar earlier Friday -- worst since Jan 26 this year

KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit opened higher against the US dollar this morning on renewed buying interest for the local currency.

At 9.05 am, the local unit was quoted at 4.1080/1130 against the US dollar from 4.1150/1190 at 5 pm on last Monday.

The ringgit was traded mixed against other major currencies.

It rose against the Singapore dollar to 2.9775/9828 from Monday’s close of 2.9784/9831 and was almost flat against the yen at 3.7022/7084 from 3.7022/7068.

The local unit slipped against the British pound to 6.0264/0342 from 6.0050/0133 but improved against the euro to 4.5804/5864 from 4.5812/5873. - Bernama
