RHB Bank expects 100,000 users for upgraded mobile app

KUALA LUMPUR: RHB Bank expects its upgraded mobile banking application app 'RHB Now' to attract at least 100,000 new users within the next 12 months, said group managing director Datuk Khairussaleh Ramli.
 
He said “RHB Now” offered customers, among others, the convenience of conducting transactions with the use of their mobile phone numbers, email and Facebook identification without the need of the recipients' bank account numbers.
 
"These new features will, among key factors, attract new users, as well as, attract existing Internet banking users to migrate to the mobile banking platform," he told reporters after launching the new app here on Wednesday.

Khairussaleh said the app would meet customers' requirement for easier and convenient way of doing online transactions with a 20 per cent reduction in the  number of steps required.

"The new and enhanced capabilities of the 'RHB Now' mobile banking app is a significant milestone in our digital journey and our commitment to become the next generation digital bank," he said.

Khairussaleh also said in the long-run, the bank aimed to equalise the number of Internet banking subscribers and mobile Internet users which currently stood at two million and 300,000, respectively.

Bank Negara Malaysia statistics revealed that the mobile penetration level had increased to 23.5% of total population in 2015 from 5.3% in 2011. - Bernama
