NEW DELHI: Malaysia Airlines’ excellent services is a good benchmark on how Malaysia welcomes investors, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (TCS) head (delivery and operation) Milind Kamble said.
“When I step into a Malaysia Airlines aircraft, the excellent service provided by the flag carrier is exactly what I experience in my business dealings in the country,” he said.
Malaysia, which is a multiracial country, also offers an array of delicious food, which would make anyone feel at home.
“My favourite is the teh tarik,” he said to the amusement of about 170 participants at the seminar on Business Opportunities in Malaysia in New Delhi on Monday.
The seminar is part of a trade and investment mission led by the International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed.
Present were Malaysian High Commissioner to India Datuk Naimun Ashakli Mohammad, Malaysian Investment Development Authority (Mida) deputy chief executive officer II Datuk N. Rajendran and Mida director in Mumbai Sherulanuar Abd Karim.
Tata Consultancy in Malaysia employs about 1,000 people, 50% of whom are Malaysians. The company has been operating in Malaysia since 1996 and was accorded the Multimedia Super Corridor status in 2003.
Malaysia is a strategic location to the single largest market of Asean which has a population of 600 million.
“Compared with other countries (in Asean) in terms of the total effective cost, Malaysia is better,” said Kamble, adding that Mida and the Malaysia External Trade Development Corp were very accommodative in providing all the necessary assistance to investors.
In a nutshell, “Malaysia is all about fair business practices, friendly with fantastic infrastructure,” Kamble added. - Bernama
