CIMB-RHB Cap-MBSB merger would have cost 8,000 jobs

PETALING JAYA: If the three-way merger deal between CIMB Group Bhd, RHB Capital Bhd (RHB Cap) and Malaysia Building Society Bhd (MBSB) had gone through, it would have caused 8,000 people to lose their jobs.

CIMB Group Holdings Bhd chairman Datuk Seri Nazir Razak said that would have been difficult to handle and it was one of the factors that he considered when he decided to call off the deal.
