TRC Synergy Bhd and partner Swee Sdn Bhd have clinched a B$78.8mil (RM231.15mil) contract for airfield pavement rehabilitation works at the Brunei International Airport. In 2011, the two partners had won a RM318.9mil contract to "modernise" this airport. Read more

Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Bhd, which hived off its stake in water concessionaire Konsortium Abass last year, is eyeing the upstream sector and has formed a joint venture with the objective of maintaining water pipelines and reducing non-revenue water. Read more

Pesona Metro Holdings Bhd’s joint venture with GPQ Sdn Bhd and Semarak Korporat Sdn Bhd has won a RM313.85mil contract to build Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin’s (UniSZA) teaching hospital in Terengganu over 3½ years. Read more

Construction firm Kerjaya Prospek Group Bhd (previously Fututech Bhd) has been awarded a dredging contract worth RM181.31mil for the Seri Tanjung Pinang 2 development in Penang, its first such infrastructure project. Read more

Edgenta Healthtronics Sdn Bhd, a unit of UEM Edgenta Bhd’s wholly-owned subsidiary Edgenta Mediserve Sdn Bhd (EMS), has secured a RM91.8mil bio-medical engineering maintenance services contract from EMS’ 40% owned associate Sedafiat Sdn Bhd. Read more

GUH Holdings Bhd, whose businesses range from making printed circuit boards to developing properties, is now entering the private education sector. It has subscribed to a 25% stake in international school operator Straits International Education Group Sdn Bhd (SIEG) as well as a 100% stake in a company that will lease land to SIEG for its future campus. Xin Hwa Holdings Bhd has accepted a five-year, RM24.9mil contract to supply of labour, prime mover and trailer services for depot operation and Inter Terminal Transfer at the Port of Tanjung Pelepas. This is in addition to the one-year contract won in January whereby the logistic services provider will supply prime mover and drivers for housekeeping and other ancillary yard movement services at the container terminal.
