CGC appoints Bursa’s former CFO as director


KUALA LUMPUR: Credit Guarantee Corp Malaysia Bhd (CGC) has appointed Bursa Malaysia Bhd’s former chief financial officer (CFO) Nadzirah Abdul Rashid as its non-executive director.

The Bank Negara subsidiary said in a statement that she had 25 years of experience in the areas of securities market and banking.

Beginning her career as a bank examiner, Nadzirah joined the Bursa Malaysia group in 1999 where she held various positions in the finance and administration business division of companies within the group.

She was the CFO of Bursa Malaysia from 2006 to early 2014.

Nadzirah currently serves as an independent non-executive director of CIMB Investment Bank Bhd.

She also serves as a divisional councillor of CPA Australia, Malaysian division. 

She is a fellow of CPA Australia and a member of Malaysian Institute of Accountants.

The core focus of CGC, whose biggest shareholder is Bank Negara (with 78.5%), is on assisting small and medium-sized enterprises,
