Maybank IB appoints deputy CEO

PETALING JAYA: Maybank Investment Bank has appointed Fad’l Mohamed (pic)its deputy chief executive officer (CEO) effective yesterday.

In a statement, the bank said Fad’l would be assisting CEO John Chong in the investment banking business in Malaysia.

Prior to joining Maybank Investment, Fad’l, 47, was the managing director of Maestro Capital Sdn Bhd – a licensed corporate finance advisory firm focusing primarily on mergers and acquisitions, fund-raising and initial public offerings – which he founded in 2004.

He started his career as a lawyer with Rashid & Lee and had also previously served in other organisations, including the Securities Commission and Dresdner Kleinwort Benson.
