Scicom net profit rises 41% to RM7.7mil in second quarter


Petaling Jaya: Scicom (MSC) Bhd posted a 41% jump in net profit for the second quarter ended Dec 31 to RM7.69mil, from RM5.47mil a year earlier, on higher revenue and improved margins at its business outsourcing and education units. Revenue of the business outsourcing company increased 9% to RM41.99mil.

“The higher revenue in the financial quarter under review compared with the preceding year’s corresponding quarter was primarily due to an increase in billable headcounts and transactional volume for existing projects worth RM10.16mil,” the company said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.
