The Rolling Stones frontman, Mick Jagger shares his playlist with British Airways.
BRITISH Airways has tapped Mick Jagger and Rufus Wainwright to share their favourite musicians and songs with flyers as part of a new program that will feature the playlists of music legends every month.
A look at the playlists reveals a rich, eclectic and diverse offering aimed at introducing travellers to different styles of music, as well as giving fans a peek at the musical inspirations of influential artists.
The programme was kicked off in March, with Jagger introducing passengers to artists like Malian singer Salif Keita, and late Nigerian singer, saxophonist and band leader Fela Kuti, if they don’t know them already.
In April, Wainwright, an American-Canadian singer-songwriter-composer also known for writing full-length operas, shared his favourite artists of the moment, including Angelique Kidjo of Benin in West Africa, Irish group The Gloaming, and a musical ensemble from Bosnia-Herzegovina, Mostar Sevdah Reunion.
British Airways has also enlisted artists including Alexander McCall Smith, AR Rahman, Brian Eno, Jamie Cullum, Jon Snow and Steve Martin to share their playlists throughout the year.
