Turkey has reason to celebrate – two more places have been added to the existing 11 of its Unesco’s World Heritage sites. Bursa and Cumalikizik – noted as “the birth place of the Ottoman Empire” – and Bergama of Izmir, hailed as “Pergamon and its multi-layered cultural landscape”.
