QATAR’S new air travelhub, Hamad International Airport, will be able to welcome 28 million travellers a year when it opens April 1. By 2015, about 50 million passengers will be able to transit through the Doha airport on an annual basis.
During the first phase of its opening, 12 international carriers will operate within the brand new complex. The emirate’s national company, Qatar Airways, will move its operations to the new airport in stages, completely settling in by the second half of 2013.
