Unlikely alliance: Samsung's screens will give Apple's upcoming iPhone 8 increased brightness and a wider viewing angle.

The iPhone 8 could come with a Samsung-built screen, according to rumours that the two tech giants have reinitiated talks over the subject.

Samsung could be set to supply its OLED screen for future models of the iPhone, replacing Apple's current LCD design, Forbes reports.

Possible advantages for Apple would include screens' increased brightness and wider viewing angle, coupled with reduced battery requirements. OLED screens are already used in the fabrication of Apple Watches. — AFP Relaxnews
