iflix, one of Southeast Asia’s leading Internet TV service providers, has unveiled a new feature called Download and Watch Offline for its app.
As the name suggests, subscribers can now download any of its thousands of TV shows and movies to their devices and watch them offline.
Users have a choice of three qualities – low, medium or high – for the movies so that they can decide what’s best based on the storage capacity of their devices.
“We are proud to be one of the first online subscription streaming services in the world to offer offline viewing,” says Mark Britt, iflix group CEO.
“iflix has been created to address the demands and challenges faced by consumers in emerging markets, including inconsistent infrastructure, and expensive and limited mobile data allowances.”
The company says it has over 850,000 subscribers since its launch less than six months ago, and its services are also available in Thailand and the Philippines.
iflix charges RM8 per month in Malaysia for unlimited access with no ads.
