Who's joke is it?: Be careful the next time you tweet a joke. Photo: Shutterstock/AFP Relaxnews

Twitter could be cracking down on the age-old practice of passing jokes around, which is to some one of the fundamental uses that made it so popular to begin with.

Jokes are being deleted, according to the Verge and @Plagiarismisbad, who count a total of five missing recycled tweets at press time.

"Saw someone spill their high end juice cleanse all over the sidewalk and now I know God is on my side," is one example, reportedly missing from Twitter since being posted for the umpteenth time.

User Olga Lexell claims to be the original joker and Twitter reportedly followed her request to remove the joke from other feeds. — AFP Relaxnews
