CLOSER TO THE ACTION: By mounting cameras to the fastest cyclists in the world, GoPro will be capturing immersive, never-before-seen content, bringing cycling fans inside the peloton.

Fans will be able to experience the Tour de France like never before, as GoPro introduces even more cameras to the bikes and tests live images.

GoPro is now an official supplier of the Tour de France, and with its arrival comes more onboard footage. A few cameras were installed for last year's race, but for 2015 a minimum of eight camera-equipped bikes per day has been promised after a deal was signed between the manufacturer, the ASO and Velon.

In a statement, GoPro announced: "By mounting cameras to the fastest cyclists in the world as they take on the 21-stage race, GoPro will be capturing immersive, never-before-seen content, bringing cycling fans inside the peloton."

For the moment, images will be edited and published on online media after the races, but organisers are also planning to test live images on stage two during the neutral start. — Reuters
