THE ONE: Jaunt says Neo records

Jaunt, which specialises in VR (virtual reality), has launched its first professional-grade camera system.

Codenamed Neo, Jaunt’s new series of cameras is described by the company as promising “fully immersive, 360° cinematic VR experiences”.

The system, the result of two-and-a-half years of development, consists of a wheel surrounded by wide-angle cameras. When the images taken by these cameras are combined, they produce a sphere of vision.

Jaunt doesn’t intend to take Neo directly to the market. Because of the system’s bespoke nature, it plans on keeping production costs as low as possible by leasing it to partners from August onwards. — AFP Relaxnews
