BRACING ITSELF: Amazon believes same-day delivery orders will grow dramatically.

Amazon offers same-day delivery to Prime members for US$5.99 (RM22) per order and non-members for US$8.99 (RM32.90), plus US0.99 (RM3.65)  per unit. The online retailer will allow Prime members free same-day shipping on orders over US$35 (RM127.90), Greg Greeley, head of Prime, told Reuters.

Amazon launched Prime a decade ago offering free, two-day shipping - at first charging US$79 (RM289.44) , then raising the service to US$99 (RM365) last year. In 2009 Prime launched same-day delivery and last year started a one-hour delivery service, Prime Now.
