There’s no shortage of mobile apps that allow diners to leave a review of their meal or rate a restaurant. But now, a new app has gone a step further and allows diners to rate their servers.
Have a favorite server who always goes the extra mile? Developers in San Francisco have created Grate, an app that allows diners to rate and review the service they received, to help their favorite server gain the recognition they deserve.
On the flipside, diners can also leave their thoughts about lousy service, be it for an insufferably snobby hostess or a rude and inattentive server.
Unlike restaurant review sites like Yelp, Zagat and OpenTable, however, reviews are kept private and read only by restaurant managers.
Developers say reviews are meant to help recognise quality service and and also offer restaurants feedback on how they can improve.
