Microsoft pilot-tests bone conduction headset for visually impaired

A healthy employee tested Microsoft's new audio headset while blindfolded and found herself surprisingly competent at navigating a busy city with only audio cues to guide her. 

Developed with help from UK charity Guide Dogs, the headset incorporates bone conduction technology, which relays sound to the inner ear through neighbouring bones in the skull.
