The American Consumer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) shows that all web services — from news to search engines that usually lag far behind their real-world counterparts in terms of satisfaction ratings — are starting to get better.

Indeed, social media websites are usually among the worst-performing companies that the ACSI tracks but over the last year they have seen a steady improvement in consumer satisfaction levels (a 4.4% rise), enough to rank them above airlines, subscription TV, and Internet service providers as the fourth worst scoring company type with a 71 point score (marked out of a possible 100).
