Sony leads consoles on US holiday shopping lists

Over a third of those picking up a console are set on getting a Sony-branded machine, according to research firm Park Associates, with the US$399 (RM1,200) PlayStation 4 having launched in North America on Nov 15 and accumulating 1 million sales (including pre-orders) within a 24-hour period.

And over a quarter are looking to Microsoft to meet their computer entertainment needs, as the US$499 (RM1,500) Xbox One, with voice control, face recognition, and integration with TV and mobile devices launches Nov 22 in the US, Canada, and 11 other territories.
