KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Open tennis tournament, starting on Saturday, has greatly benefited from what the tournament organisers have termed as the “Nishikori effect” – with more than 18,000 tickets snapped up thus far for the sixth edition.
Tournament director Nick Freyer revealed that this surpassed the total tickets sold for the entire tournament last year.
