PETALING JAYA: World No. 2 Nicol David began her Qatar Classic squash title defence in emphatic style, beating Nicolette Fernandes of Guyana in straight sets.

The 32-year-old Malaysian needed just 32 minutes to win 11-4, 11-4, 11-5 in the opening round at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha on Monday.
