PETALING JAYA: National No. 2 Mohd Nafiizwan Adnan kept his perfect record intact in the Malaysian Tour Squash Circuit (SSJM) by bagging the fifth leg crown in Penang.
The Terengganu-born Nafiizwan was just too strong for Sarawakian Valentino Bon Jovi Bong, winning 11-4, 11-7, 11-6 for his fourth title in the circuit. That means the world No. 36 is still unbeaten in the local scene this year. Nafiizwan did not compete in the second leg in Putrajaya in March.
Nafiizwan’s next assignment is the HKFC International, which starts in Hong Kong on May 21. The 28-year-old is seeded fifth and will face a qualifier in the first round. Veteran Ong Beng Hee and Ivan Yuen are the other Malaysians competing in Hong Kong.
Meanwhile, in the women’s division, Egyptian Farah Abdel Meguid picked up her first title of the season. The 21-year-old fourth seed outplayed unseeded Vanessa Chu of Hong Kong 11-6, 11-8, 11-9 in the final.
