KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s challenge in the Macau Open ended in the quarter-finals on Friday.
World No. 23 and veteran Ong Beng Hee, who won the Royal Lake Club title last week, lost 7-11, 6-11, 4-11 to top seed Omar Mosaad of Egypt.
World No. 10 Mosaad will face fourth seed Saurav Ghosal of India for a place in the final.
In the women’s competition, national No. 3 Delia Arnold also lost in straight sets to third seed Dipika Pallikal of India.
Awaiting Dipika in the semi-finals is top seed Natalie Grinham of Holland.
