Rachel and Celine join her in third round of World Juniors

PETALING JAYA: Top squash juniors Rachel Arnold and Vanessa Raj moved into the third round of the Women’s World Junior Championships in contrasting fashions at the Hasta La Vista Centre in Wroclaw, Poland.

Vanessa, who reached the semi-finals of the Asian Junior Championships last month, had no problems breezing past India’s Tanvi Khanna 11-5, 11-2, 11-2 in just 23 minutes on Wednesday.

She will face England’s Anna Kimberley for a place in the last 16.

“I thought my opponent played quite well ... despite the scoreline,” said Vanessa.

“I felt a little shaky at the start and couldn’t get into my rhythm. It took me a while to get my game going but, overall, it was a good match and a good start.”
