STAMFORD Bridge makes the impossible possible – and you better believe it.
Three-one down against Paris St Germain (PSG) in the return leg of the Champions League quarter-final tie on Tuesday was, honestly, a very daunting task.
And, given that the Blues’ misfiring strikers and absence of key men for the return leg, it would have been easy to write Chelsea off.
But no one reckoned with fortress Stamford Bridge.
The home of the Blues has not been breached all season.
And then, there’s Jose Mourinho, who had other ideas – despite having Eden Hazard forced off with an injury after only 18 minutes.
To be honest, Hazard’s injury proved to be a blessing in disguise as Andre Schurrle offered more speed and his ability to run straight at the Parisian defence hurt them badly.
This Chelsea side, however, still need a lot of tweaking despite beating PSG 2-0 to reach the Champions League semi-finals. The final aggregate score was 3-3 but Chelsea go through on the away-goal rule.
The Champions League aside, many believe that the Blues are still very much in the race for the English Premier League, despite leaders Liverpool being two points ahead.
Let’s not forget that Manchester City are just two points behind the Blues – and with two games in hand!
Mathematically, Chelsea are still in with a shout.
But it won’t be easy, not when you can be sure that Liverpool and City won’t let up one bit.
Even with Hazard set to be out for at least two weeks, the Blues need not fret as the likes of Ramires and “Beast Mode” Nemanja Matic are set to return to the starting line-up.
So the Blues can travel to the Liberty Stadium to take on Swansea confident of victory and give themselves a proper shot at the title.
So Keep The Blue Flag Flying High.
Kng Zheng Guan believes that Chelsea’s best shot at winning the EPL title is for Man City to completely eliminate Liverpool’s challenge this weekend.
