IT WAS a gift at stoppage time – right-back Bacary Sagna laid out a sitter for Nicklas Bendtner to equalise and salvage both Arsenal’s pride and his own career. The renegade Danish striker shot wide, surprise, surprise, and the Gunners got their ar$*$ whipped again at Old Trafford.

The Arsenal faithful would like to believe that tired muscles due to their gruelling run of matches and an unexpected virus attack were to blame for their defeat against the Red Devils two weeks ago. But Arsenal’s lack of invention up front cannot be denied. On a day when it mattered most, none of their creative guns were firing.
