Emma overcomes father's death to win world title


PETALING JAYA: Policewoman Emma Firyana Saroji overcame the grief of losing her father to become a world lawns bowls champion.

The 29-year-old Malaysian defeated Nici Neal of South Africa in straight sets – 9-3 and 9-8 – in the women’s singles final of the World Champion of Champions at the Helensvale Bowls Club in Gold Coast, Australia.
