Kauto Star put down after breaking pelvis in fall


LONDON (Reuters) - Kauto Star, who captured the public's imagination with a string of stirring victories including two Cheltenham Gold Cup successes, has been put down after fracturing his pelvis in a fall.

The 15-year-old gelding won 23 of his 41 races including the Gold Cup in 2007 and 2009 when he became the first horse to regain it after losing to Denman in 2008.
