PUTRAJAYA: Wushu exponent Ng Shin Yii believes she’s ready to shake off her bridesmaid tag and contend for SEA Games glory in Singapore next month.

In four Games appearances, the 26-year-old taijiquan specialist won the silver on three occasions. She finished behind Lindswell Kwok, a two-time world champion of Indonesia, in Palembang in 2011 and in Myanmar in 2013. At the 2007 Games in Korat, Shin Yii was runner-up to compatriot Chai Fong Ying.
