PETALING JAYA: GAC Pindar’s skipper Ian Williams gained a crucial psychological edge over arch-rival Taylor Canfield of US One ahead of their possible match-up in the Monsoon Cup Malaysia final.

Four-time world champion Williams drew first blood by beating Canfield of Virgin Islands en route to topping the 12-team round-robin competition at Danga Bay in Johor.
