Williams surges to the top in Monsoon Cup opening day

PETALING JAYA: Skipper Ian Williams stayed on course for a fifth world crown after his GAC Pindar team put up a commanding show on the opening day of the Alpari World Match Racing Tour’s season-ending Monsoon Cup Malaysia.

The 37-year-old Briton, the overall leader with 94 points, won five out of his six races at Danga Bay in Johor on Tuesday to surge to the top of leaderboard of the 12-team competition.
