KUALA LUMPUR: Sports associations should stop counting on the government for funding and start working on being self-dependent.
“Sports associations and federations in the country need to change their mindset. When the government has cash-flow issues, I feel that sports will not be at the top of its list of priorities,” said Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) president Tunku Tan Sri Imran Tuanku Ja’afar at the pledge-signing ceremony of the SportExcel-NSC-Milo National Junior Circuits 2014 here on Thursday.
