Malaysia kick-off SEA Games with two bronze in Chinlone

NAYPYITAW: Malaysia kicked off their 27th SEA Games campaign with two bronze medals from Chinlone at the Wunna Theikdi C Indoor Stadium on Wednesday.

The first bronze came from the men's Chinlobe team event (Level 3) after collecting 246 points while host Myanmar took the gold medal with 660 points, ahead of Thailand on 404 points.

The second bronze medal came through the women's team (Level 3) that finished behind Myanmar and Thailand that came in first and second respectively.

National Chinlone coach Nurudin Pawi said though his boys had only trained for less than two months, they had put up a credible performance.

"We are hoping for at least another bronze medal from the men's Chinlone (Level 2) event. We are also confident of winning a silver medal in the men's Level 1 competition because Thailand are not taking part," he said. - BERNAMA
