KUANTAN: The future of athletics in the country looks bright as 15 records were broken in the five-day National Schools Athletics Cham-pionships (MSSM) which ended here on Thursday.
And for the first time in the history of the 55th edition of the MSSM meet, Mahira Hanis Ishak of Johor became the first athlete to break the 5m barrier in the girls’ Under-12 long jump event. She cleared 5.06m to better the previous mark of 4.91m set by Cheah Yean Yean of Johor in 2004.
