PETALING JAYA: Moto3 racer Muhd Zulfahmi Khairuddin (pic) has earned a place in the “Malaysia Book of Records”.
The 21-year-old Banting rider has inspired the entire nation with his terrific exploits in the FIM World Motorcycle Championship.
Last year, he grabbed his first-ever Moto3 podium when he finished second at the Malaysian Grand Prix – a first by a Malaysian rider in any class at the home race. At the end of last year’s Moto GP campaign in Valencia, Zulfahmi claimed the second podium of his career.
Zulfahmi, who races for world champions Red Bull Racing KTM this season, thanked all his sponsors for making his childhood dream – to compete in the MotoGP World Championship – possible.
“I’d like to thank SIC, AirAsia, KTM and all my sponsors for making my childhood dream possible. It has indeed been a fantastic journey for me,” said Zulfahmi.
The ceremony was also attended by SIC chief executive officer Datuk Razlan Razali, Malaysia Book of Records managing director Datuk Danny Ooi as well as representatives from AirAsia and the Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia.
