PETALING JAYA: Petronas Yamaha-CKJ riders Mohd Affendi Rosli and Ahmad Afif Amran are aiming to clinch the CP130 team awards as the second half of the Petronas AAM Malaysian Cub Prix Championships begins at Kluang Stadium, Johor.
The duo is in a good position to secure the team award after consistently finishing the first five races this season among top-10.
Petronas Yamaha CKJ now leads the team standings with 136 points, six points ahead of Givi Honda Yuzy Racing.
“We are in a strong position to win the team award but the gap is too small for us to feel comfortable yet. Hence it is very important for the both of us to finish in the top five this weekend to maintain the lead,” said Affendi.
“All we need to do is to keep working hard and never give up and hopefully we can take the title fight to the very last round,” said Afif.
Affendi and Afif currently placed fourth and second in the overall standings with 63 points and 73 points respectively. Mohd Zaqhwan Zaidi of Givi Honda Yuzy Racing is leading the championship with 100 points.
