Kobayashi grateful for second shot at F1

Japanese F1 driver Kamui Kobayashi of Caterham Racing addressing the crowd in an event at the Sepang Circuit on Tuesday.

SEPANG: One does not get that many second chances when it comes to a Formula One seat and Japanese driver Kamui Kobayashi can thank his ardent fans for helping him secure a drive with Caterham.

That’s why Kobayashi is excited to return to Sepang for the Petronas Malaysian Formula One Grand Prix this weekend. The Japanese ace was convinced his time in the top flight was over when a lack of funding forced him out of the Sauber team at the end of 2012, ironically only weeks after taking his one and only podium finish.
