Zamri joins team MUSASHi Honda

PETALING JAYA: Malaysian rider Mohd Zamri Baba has joined team MUSASHi Boon Siew Honda Racing for this year’s Petronas FIM Asia Road Racing Championship.

The 31-year-old Zamri, who was previously astride Petronas Hong Leong Yamaha, will team up with former MotoGP and World Superbike Championship winner Makoto Tamada and compatriot Mohd Zaqhwan Zaidi.

This news was confirmed by Honda Motor Co. Ltd.

“The decision to move to a new team has not been easy but I hope it will lead to even more exposure for my racing career.

“My priority is to help team Boon Siew Honda retain the Asian title in 2014,” he said.

Besides Zamri and Zaqhwan, the announcement also confirmed Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman’s first full season in the Moto2 class of the MotoGP and Zulfahmi Khairuddin in the Moto3 class.

Youngster S. Sasitharen will be the fifth Malaysian rider in the list. He will be racing in the SuperSports 600cc class of the Petronas FIM Asia Road Racing Championship with team T. Pro Yuzy Honda.
