Azlan smashes Kiyonari's SuperSports 600cc lap record


Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman smashed former team-mate and defending champion Ryuichi Kiyonari’s lap record with his time of 2:05.701 in the Petronas Asia Road Racing Championship practice session.

PETALING JAYA: Musashi Boon Siew Honda Racing’s Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman is on course to becoming only the second Malaysian rider to win the SuperSports 60cc title when he competes in the Petronas Asia Road Racing Championship at the Losail Circuit in Qatar this weekend.

On Thursday, the 29-year-old set a blistering pace in the practice session, topping the timesheets with 2:05.701 – smashing former team-mate and defending champion Ryuichi Kiyonari’s 2:05.881 lap record.
