Norizman Ismail took first place in Round Seven of the Malaysian Cub Prix Championship in Temerloh on Sunday.
PETALING JAYA: Norizman Ismail inched closer to his third CP130 title in the Petronas AAM Malaysian Cub Prix Championships after taking victory in Round Seven in Temerloh on Sunday.
The Harian Metro Y-TEQ SCK Honda Racing rider took the chequered flag in 14:59.499 ahead of Mohd Zaqhwan Zaidi of Givi Honda Yuzy Pachie (15:00.778) and Mohd Zamri Baba of Petronas Yamaha CKJ (15:05.824).
Norizman now has 107 points, 14 clear of Zaqhwan (93 points). Ahmad Fuad Baharudin of Faito Yamaha Motobert is third on 92.
“Winning here is a bonus for me and the team. We didn’t think it was possible although we managed to secure pole in the qualifying today. We were really lucky,” said Norizman.
With three more rounds to go, Norizman is confident of emerging overall champion again.
“If possible, I would like to win all the remaining legs. But that is very difficult because everybody is on the same level right now,” said Norizman.
