PETALING JAYA: Moto3 rider Zulfahmi Khairuddin finished a creditable sixth in the San Marino Motorcycle Grand Prix in Misano, Italy, on Sunday.
The Red Bull-KTM-Ajo rider thus equalled his best finish of the season. He was also placed sixth in the season-opening race in Qatar in April.
It was a memorable outing for Zulfahmi as he also achieved his best qualifying of the season on Saturday with the fourth fastest time.
With his sixth placing, Zulfahmi moved up from 12th to nine in the overall standings with 60 points.
Team-mate Luis Salom of Spain bounced back from 10th on the starting grid to take fourth place yesterday to remain the leader with 246 points.
