Unlikely Lahiri claims Maybank Malaysian Open title

KUALA LUMPUR: India’s Anirban Lahiri completed a remarkable turnaround to claim a thrilling one-stroke victory over Austrian Bernd Wiesberger at the Maybank Malaysian Open at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club (KLGCC).

The 27-year-old Anirban, who was five shots off the pace at the start of Sunday’s final round, fired a closing four-under 68 for a 16-under 272 to overcome Wiesberger in the co-sanctioned Asian and European Tours event.
