KUALA LUMPUR: Thailand’s Pimnipa Panthong staved off a fierce challenge from compatriot and best pal Chayanit Wangahaporn to claim a one-stroke triumph at the 31st Malaysian Ladies Amateur Open. 

The 16-year-old Pimnipa posted her second straight even-par 72 for a three-day total of six-under 210 to beat Chayanit, who signed off with a 70 for a 211 total.
