KUALA LUMPUR: Junior golfer Adam Arif Madzri dares to dream big after a putting up a consistent performance to clinch the Under-12 title in the AmBank SportExcel Junior Golf Grand Finals at the Kota Permai Golf and Country Club in Shah Alam.

The three-day tournament was reduced to just two rounds due to heavy rain on Thursday.

The 12-year-old carded a 77 on Friday to go with the 76 he shot on Wednesday for a two-day total of 153 and a one-stroke win over K. Rhaasrikanesh and Aqil Afiq Rosli.

“I feel that my overall game was good. I didn’t play with much pressure and I just tried to enjoy it. It’s unfortunate that we did not manage to play the second round but I’m very sure we all still had fun,” said Adam.

“My dream is to play with all the professional golfers, like Rory Mcllroy, Tiger Woods, Ernie Els ... the list goes on. I aim to play in the CIMB Classic when I turn professional.”

In the boys’ Under-10 category, there was an expected win for Feirish Nor, who shot a two-day total of 145. Japan’s Kokoro Ouchi shot a total of 157 to grab the girls’ Under-10 title.

Muhammad Asyraf shot a total of 158 to walk away with the boys’ Under-18 title while Lee Sin-kyung of South Korea won the girls’ title with a 157 total.
