PETALING JAYA: Wilson Choo tightened his grip to take a six-stroke lead going into the final round of the PGM Tour’s RM150,000 Pahang Classic at Lanjut Golden Beach and Golf Resort in Rompin on Saturday.
The 24-year-old Kuala Lumpur resident shot a masterful five-under 67 to end the third day on 13-under-par 203.
“I started off a little shaky. But the birdie on the 5th hole steadied the ship and I felt comfortable after that,” said Wilson, who posted five more birdies and a bogey at the 16th hole.
In fact, Wilson’s 67 was the low round of the third day and set him up well going into the finale on Sunday.
“My plan, as I seek my first win on the PGM Tour, is to play just as I did over the last couple of days.
“I need to keep the ball on the fairway and give myself a chance at birdies,” he added.
