PETALING JAYA: MK Land has come on board to support the 41st edition of the Selangor Amateur Open Golf, which will be played at the Rahman Putra Golf Club from Oct 1-3.
The stroke play men’s championships will be a stern test of stamina as it will be played over 54 holes.
Organising chairman M.K. Chua said they are grateful to MK Land for coming in as the title sponsors.
“We have received invitations not only from Malaysia but also from Singapore, the Philippines, Indonesia and Australia,” he said.
“More than 70 golfers have registered so far. The course has hosted the PGM event, which is part of the Asian Development Tour (ADT), before and it is in top condition.
“I’m confident the players will find it challenging when they step out for the tournament, which will be played at the Lake Course.”
MK Land is supporting the event to a tune of RM30,000. The Selangor Open is also one of the local amateur tournaments included in the world amateur golf rankings.
For the record, the winners last year were Jerome Ng of Singapore (men’s event) and national amateur golfer Aretha Pan (women’s).
