ARDMORE, Pennsylvania (Reuters) - Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, golf's glamour duo, played together for a third successive day but failed to spark as they spectacularly tumbled out of contention in Saturday's third round at the U.S. Open.
Between them, the world's top two players piled up 14 bogeys in challenging conditions at sun-drenched Merion Golf Club, Woods battling to a six-over-par 76 and McIlroy stuttering to a 75.
